Friday, Sept 2 thru Monday, Sept 5

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif – The San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station will be conducting its Labor Day Marine Enforcement Operation beginning Friday, September 2 and ending on Monday, September 5. Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting enhanced patrol activities on the waterways of the Colorado River. Deputies will be deployed from the Nevada State line to the Riverside County line.

Deputies will be looking for people operating watercraft under the influence and operating in a reckless manner. People stopped for operating watercraft under the influence of alcohol and or drugs will be arrested and booked at the jail.

The department encourages all people to wear personal floatation devices while on the waterways, personal floatation devices save lives. Deputies will be closely watching for children under the age of 13 who are not wearing personal floatation devices (PFD’s) while on vessels. The law requires all persons under the age of 13 while on a vessel to wear a personal floatation device.

Deputies will be patrolling on the land, water and in the air; this will allow faster response times for emergencies.
