May 2, 2016

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Saturday, April 30 at about 9:29 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station responded to the report of a person shot at a residence in the area of Siesta Drive and Manana Drive in Twentynine Palms. Upon arrival, deputies were advised that a male suspect, later identified as Clent Gibson, was involved in an argument with multiple victims.

The suspect then reportedly left the area and retrieved a firearm from his residence. Gibson then returned to the area again, confronting the victims. The suspect drove by the victims at a slow rate of speed and more arguments were exchanged between Gibson and the victims. Gibson then fired several rounds at the victims, sticking one of the victims. The suspect immediately fled the scene in his vehicle after the shooting.

Through investigation, detectives and deputies identified Gibson as being the suspect involved in the shooting. Clent Gibson (age 41) was located hours later and arrested without incident. Evidence connecting him to the shooting was located. Gibson was booked for attempted murder at the Morongo Basin Jail in lieu of one-million dollars bail.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
