Man Arrested for Holding Baby While Trashing Ex’s Car

NEEDLES, Calif – On Thursday, October 13, at 5:47 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station and the Needles Police Department were dispatched to a disturbance near the intersection of G Street and W. Broadway Street. Through an investigation, Matthew Kormes (age 22 of Needles) was found to be extremely intoxicated and under the influence of methamphetamine.

He was holding an 11 month-old child as he smashed the windshield of his ex-girlfriends vehicle with the car stereo he ripped out of it. This caused chards of glass and dust to be sprayed into air in the direction of the child.

Kormes was arrested for PC273a(a) – Child Endangerment and booked into the Colorado River Jail. His bail was set at $100.000. The child was released to the mother.
