Register to Vote Tuesday as part of National Voter Registration Day

Join the Riverside County Registrar of Voters and the California Secretary of State in spreading the word about National Voter Registration Day. Registrar of Voters Rebecca Spencer and Secretary of State Alex Padilla are encouraging all businesses, nonprofit organizations, community groups and every other Californian to promote voter registration on Tuesday, September 27, as part of National Voter Registration Day.

Out of 1.4 million eligible voters in Riverside County, roughly 64 percent are registered to vote. Spencer encourages every eligible Riverside County resident to register to vote.

Registering to vote is easy! Register to vote online at Paper applications are available at the Riverside County Registrar of Votersí office, Department of Motor Vehicles offices, post offices, city clerk offices and public libraries.

The registrarís office, at 2724 Gateway Drive in Riverside, will be open from 8 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, until 5:00 p.m., to accept registration forms. California residents may register to vote if they are U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old by Election Day, not adjudicated as mentally incompetent and not precluded because of certain criminal convictions. A person must re-register to vote after moving, changing names or changing political party preference.
