Riverside County Launches Online Voter Information for Voters with Disabilities

October 29, 2016

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif – On Friday, October 28, the County launched its fully accessible online sample ballots and voter guide. Riverside County has been working to provide complete access for all voters, including voters with disabilities.

The new technology is geared toward giving all voters equal access to vital voter information, according to the Riverside County Registrar of Voters. The accessible sample ballot and voters’ guide can be found at

“Knowing who is on your ballot and being able to access candidate statements is a vital part of being an informed voter,” said Registrar Rebecca Spencer. “Using the LiveBallot tool, all voters in Riverside County will have equal and universal access to critical voting information in advance of the election.”

Beginning today (10/27) voters using screen readers and other navigational aids can access the link that says “Accessible Sample Ballot.” The Accessible Sample Ballot displays the ballot and candidate content specific to individual registered voters. Voters will be prompted to enter their first and last names and date of birth to access their specific ballot content.

“As we near the presidential election it’s important that all voters, including those with disabilities, have equal access to not only the ballot but balloting information,” said California disabilities advocate Ardis Bayzn. “We applaud Riverside County for pioneering accessible online voter information using the LiveBallot accessible voting technology.”

Call the registrar’s office at (951) 486-7200 if you have any questions about the upcoming election.
