Stolen Car & Drug Arrests

BLYTHE, Calif On Wednesday, May 11, about 6:20 a.m., the Blythe Narcotic Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle in the 1600 Block of East Hobsonway, for a traffic offense. Blythe Police Department assisted with the stop. The driver, Ryan Roeschen (age 30) and his passengers, Melissa Diaz (age 33) and a 15-year-old juvenile, all of Blythe, were detained.

The investigation led to the discovery of stolen property inside the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed all three occupants were in possession of suspected methamphetamine, with a combined weight of almost one ounce. Items indicative of drug sales and stolen property from several of Blythe Police Department's burglary investigations were also found. It was later discovered the truck driven by Roeschen was an unreported stolen vehicle out of Blythe.

Roeschen and Diaz were booked into the Riverside County Jail in Blythe for possession of methamphetamine for sales, transportation of methamphetamine for sales, conspiracy, possession of stolen property. Roeschen was also charged with theft of the vehicle. The juvenile was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, and released to his parents. 

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

BNET is a multi-agency narcotic task force participated in by law enforcement agencies in the Blythe, Palo Verde Valley area. BNET's primary mission is to disrupt narcotic sales and diminish the availability of those drugs, thereby increasing public safety.
