Suspects Arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon

NEEDLES, Calif – On Friday, December 16 at 9:35 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Colorado River Station and the Needles Police Department were dispatched to a call regarding a man with a weapon at the intersection of Quivera Street and Cibola Street.

After deputies arrived and some investigation, it was discovered that Donald Fitch (age 47 of Mohave Valley, Arizona) was involved in an altercation with the victim. The victim had been struck by Fitch with a large metal pipe. Two other men, Adrian Lara (age 30) and Joseph Derum (age 33) both of Mohave Valley, Arizona had been present and were charged as accessories.

Fitch was arrested and booked into the Needles Jail with a bail amount of $50,000 for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Colorado River Medical Center for treatment.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
