Woman & Two Dogs Die in Home Fire

BLYTHE, Calif On Thursday, December 1, at about 8:45 a.m., Blythe Police along with Blythe Fire Department personnel responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of Hickory. When Officers arrived they discovered a single story home fully engulfed with smoke and flames. Entry into the home to check for possible trapped occupants was impossible due to the smoke, heat and flames.

Blythe Fire arrived and extinguished the fire. During their check of the residence Firefighters located a deceased female in one of the bedrooms. Positive identification of the female is pending. Two dogs also died as a result of the fire and were found near the victim.

Blythe Police Detectives along with Investigators from Cal Fire and Riverside County Coroners Office were called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
