Man arrested for inflicting great bodily injury to a 3-year-old child

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Friday, November 3, 2017, a 3-year-old female was removed from the custody of Otis Flemings by Children and Family Services (CFS). Once removed, CFS noticed numerous bruises on the 3-year-old and immediately took her to the emergency room.
Upon further examination by a Forensic Pediatrician from Loma Linda University Medical Center, the 3-year-old was found to have a bruised buttocks, bruised ears, multiple scabbed lesions and scars, bilateral retinal hemorrhages, and a deep brain injury. A thorough investigation was conducted and submitted to the District Attorney’s Office.
On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, the District Attorney filed ten charges against Otis Flemings (a black male, age 30 of Twentynine Palms) including Inflicting Great Bodily Injury on a Child and Corporal Injury to a Child.
On Friday, March 30, 2018, Flemings was arrested by San Bernardino County Sheriff deputies and booked into Morongo Jail with bail set at $450,000.
