Man beats, kicks & threatens to hang wife

NEEDLES, CA – On Monday, July 30 at 7:51 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department/ Needles Police Department responded to Colorado River Medical Center after getting a report of a patient in the emergency room who was the victim of an assault.

On Thursday, July 26, Victor Lawrence (age 32 of Needles) physically prevented the victim from leaving her residence in the 1000 block of Lilly Hill Dr., and assaulted her several times with his feet and closed fists on her head and body. Lawrence wrapped a rope around the victim's neck and threatened to kill her causing the victim to fear for her life.

Lawrence was arrested and booked into the Needles Jail for Assault with Great Bodily Harm, False Imprisonment, Felony Spousal Abuse with priors and is currently being held on $50,000 bond.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Deputy DeRuiter at the Colorado River Station/ Needles Police Department at (760) 326-9200.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
