Man jailed for animal abuse after injuring girlfriends Chihuahua

NEEDLES, Calif – On Wednesday, August 15 a San Bernardino County Sheriff – Colorado River Station deputy responded to the 200 block of San Clemente Street after a report of Animal Abuse. The reporting party stated her boyfriend, Jvar Brooks (age 24 of Needles), injured her pet Chihuahua named "8 Ball" to the extent the dog was unable to stand or walk.

Brooks, who was presently out of custody on a $50,000 bond for an unrelated weapons charge, was arrested for Felony Animal Abuse. He was transported and booked at the Colorado River Station Jail where he is being held with bail set at $100,000.

On August 16 the owner of the dog went to a veterinary clinic and discovered the dog had severe internal bleeding and had to be euthanized.
