RV fire takes life of local man

BLYTHE, Calif – Today, Friday, July 13 at about 1:09 a.m. Blythe Police Officers along with the Blythe Fire Department, were dispatched to the 100 block of Green Valley Rd. regarding a recreational vehicle on fire. When officers arrived, they found a large Class A motor home on fire. The fire had advanced to the point that officers were unable to enter. Blythe Fire arrived and quickly extinguished the flames.
After the fire was extinguished a deceased male was located inside the motor home. The male was eventually positively identified as 61-year-old Thomas Newidouski of Blythe.
Blythe Police Detectives were called out to investigate, along with Investigators from CAL Fire and the Riverside County Coroner’s Office. Investigators determined the cause of the fire to be electrical, and from an overloaded outlet inside the motor home.
