Mother is arrested after her children found living in deplorable conditions

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Sunday, February 24 at 5:20 p.m., deputies assigned to the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Morongo Basin Station responded to a welfare check in the 2100 block of Monument Lane in the City of Twentynine Palms. When the deputies arrived at the location, they discovered the residence was occupied by Kathryn Conrado (age 29 of Twentynine Palms) and her three minor children.

Deputies located an overwhelming amount of animal feces and animal urine embedded on to the carpet, bedding, and clothing throughout the residence. Additionally, deputies located trash and rotten food throughout. The victims were living in an unsuitable and unsafe environment due to the conditions in the residence.

Children and Family Service responded to the location and took custody of the three victims.

Kathryn Conrado was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Penal Code Penal Code 273 (A) (A) Willful Cruelty to Child in lieu of 100,000 bail.
