Search Warrant results in arrest of burglary suspect

PIONEERTOWN, Calif – On Thursday, December 5 about 10:58 a.m., detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department - Morongo Basin Station, served a search warrant at a residence, in the 54000 block of Pipes Canyon Road, in Pioneertown. The search warrant was related to a burglary investigation and stolen property.
Detectives identified Justin Channell (age 34 of Pioneertown) as a suspect in the burglary and located him at the residence after the search warrant service.
During the search warrant service, more than 30 firearms and several thousand rounds of various caliber ammunition was located. Channell is a convicted felon and is prohibited from owning or possessing firearms and ammunition.
Channell was arrested for burglary, felon in possession of a firearm and felon in possession of ammunition. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail.
