Strong arm robbery

NEEDLES, Calif – On Sunday, July 14 at 6:20 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff - Needles Police Department/Colorado River Station responded to the 2500 block of West Needles Highway following a report of a strong-arm robbery at a convenience store and gas station.

When deputies arrived, they determined the suspect, identified as Christopher Hood (age 41 of Needles), came to the location, selected a 12 pack of beer from the shelves, assaulted a clerk and left without paying for the merchandise. It was determined Hood left in a green colored vehicle.

Deputies located Hood's vehicle at the 1700 block of West Needles Highway. Hood was contacted at the location, and subsequently placed under arrest for Robbery. He was booked into the Colorado River Jail, pending a court hearing on $100,000 bail. The stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the victim.
