Man arrested after shooting his brother during an argument

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif – On Sunday, January 26 at 10:03 am, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department - Morongo Basin Station, responded to the 5300 Block of Chia Avenue in Twentynine Palms after getting a report of a shooting.

Deputies located Richard Salazar (age 35 of Twentynine Palms) suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Salazar was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center by ambulance and is reported to be in stable condition.

Through investigation, deputies determined Robert Salazar (age 37 of Twentynine Palms) shot his brother Richard during an argument. Robert fled the scene in a vehicle and was later located in the 59000 Block of Aberdeen Drive.

Robert was arrested and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail for attempted murder in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
