Man dies of gunshot

RIPLEY, Calif – On Saturday, March 28 at about 7:40 p.m., deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department - Colorado River Station were dispatched after getting a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, in the area of 25th and Ramsey avenue in Ripley.

Upon arrival in the area, deputies found a male on the street suffering from a gunshot wound. Deputies began emergency life-saving measures until paramedics arrived.

A crime scene was secured and station investigators responded. Unfortunately, the male succumbed from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

The decedent was identified as Martin Perez (23) of Blythe. The investigation is currently on-going and no further information is available at this time.
