Pedestrian Hit

BLYTHE, Calif On Thursday, January 9 at about 5:25 pm the Blythe Police Department received several 911 calls reporting a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 300 Block of S. Lovekin Blvd. When Officers arrived, they found 40-year-old Blythe resident, George Rivera Jr., had been hit by a vehicle.

Rivera was unconscious but breathing. Rivera was later flown out because of his injuries.

During the investigation Officers learned that the driver of the vehicle was traveling northbound in the 300 Block of south Lovekin. Rivera was walking westbound towards Chevron (outside of the crosswalk). The driver of the vehicle did not see Rivera and collided with Rivera causing his injuries.
