Riverside County Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office closed

Property taxes can be made online, through the mail or designated drop boxes

March 18, 2020

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif – With the safety of staff and community in mind, and to follow the recommended best practices to diminish the spread of COVID-19, The Riverside County Treasurer-Tax Collector will close all offices to the public effective March 18, 2020.

COVID-19 virus has caused concern throughout the entire world. Health care professionals at every level of government agree that the best course of action to slow the proliferation of this disease is to limit social interaction through the practice of social distancing.

The Treasurer-Tax collector will still answer phone calls, e-mails, and written correspondence from the taxpayers of Riverside. You can pay your property taxes by using one of the methods that do not require a visit to our office in person:

  • Envelopes containing check or money orders as well as a payment stub can be placed in drop boxes available at every public service location.

  • Make your payment on our website at

  • Make a payment using our automated phone payment system at 951-955-3900.

  • Send in your personal check, money order or cashier’s check through the mail.

We empathize with the public’s anxiety and concern about the impacts of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Riverside County Treasurer-Tax Collector’s office is unable to change the April 10 deadline for the second installment of property taxes as the delinquency date of Friday, April 10, 2020, is established for all counties by state law. Furthermore, critical county services, school, and local financial obligations are dependent on those scheduled revenues to provide vital services. We will consider requests to waive penalties, costs, or other charges resulting from tax delinquency due to COVID-19 related illnesses.

Thank you for your continued cooperation in ensuring the continuance of critical services to the residents of Riverside County.
