Robbery victim shot and calls 911

BLYTHE, Calif – On Thursday, January 16 at about 12:43 am Blythe Police Dispatch received a 911 call from a victim reporting that he had just been robbed and shot at in the area of Hobsonway and Ash. Officers from the Blythe Police Department made contact with the victim in the 100 Block of N. Spring St.


The victim told Officer’s he was accosted by two male adults in the area of Hobsonway and Ash and during the encounter with the two suspects they robbed him and shot at him several times with a firearm.

A few hours later Officers located the two suspects at a residence in the 300 Block of N. Carlton. A short time later both suspects and they were taken into custody.

The two suspects who were arrested were Enrique Romero (age 21) and Rene Garcia (age 44), both from Blythe.

Officers performed a search of the residence and located 4 loaded firearms, a significant amount of ammunition and a large quantity of methamphetamine. Romero and Garcia were booked into Blythe Jail on several Felony charges.

There were no significant injuries reported in this incident.
