Son takes shot at mom & sets fire to trailer

DESERT CENTER, Calif – On Sunday, March 8 at 9:24 AM, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department - Colorado River Station deputies responded to a call in the 25500 block of Kaiser Road in the unincorporated area of Desert Center. Investigation led to witnesses who advised deputies that Jonathan Lindstrom (32 of Desert Center) had fired a .22 caliber air rifle at his mother, and set fire to a trailer on the property.

Deputies contacted Lindstrom along with officers from the California Highway Patrol and took him into custody without incident. Cal Fire responded to trailer fire and extinguish it.

While being transported to the Colorado River Station, Lindstrom attempted to kick out the rear driver’s side window of the patrol unit, causing damage in excess of $2,000.

Lindstrom was later booked at the Blythe Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, felony vandalism, and misdemeanor vandalism. Arson investigators from Cal Fire will be filing charges of arson on Lindstrom.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
