Fire Near Hospital

BLYTHE, Calif On Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at about 11:07 p.m. the Blythe Police Department received a 9-1-1 emergency call reporting heavy smoke coming from a residence located at 248 East Barnard. The Blythe Police Department and Blythe Fire Department responded and found that home was fully engulfed in flames.

The fire was extinguished and the area was searched for possible evidence. No subjects were located in the area of the fire.

The cause of this fire is currently under investigation. Officers investigating the incident are unsure of exactly what caused the fire, but believe it may have been subjects who were illegally trespassing in the vacant home.

Persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
